Wellness & Liability Waiver

Last updated: 5 October 2026

Please read this before you begin. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Nature of practice and voluntary participation

Our course bundles focus exclusively on subtle breathwork (pranayama), internal awareness, light stretches and meditation. By enrolling in and practising these lessons, you acknowledge that deep breathing and internal focus can trigger physiological shifts, emotional responses, or changes in mental space. You participate in these online practices voluntarily, with full knowledge of your own physical and psychological health.

2. Medical disclaimer — this is not a substitute for medical care

Not a substitute for medication

Meditation and pranayama are contemplative wellness practices. They are not medical treatments, psychotherapy, or a substitute for any prescription medication or medical care. You agree never to discontinue, modify or adjust any prescribed medication, psychiatric treatment or medical advice on the basis of these course materials or practices.

Psychological and psychiatric considerations

If you are currently managing severe trauma, PTSD, clinical depression, psychosis, severe anxiety or panic disorders, please consult your mental health professional before undertaking deep breathwork or prolonged meditation.

Health conditions and substances

If you have high or low blood pressure, cardiovascular conditions, asthma, or are under the influence of substances, consult your physician before practising. Certain dynamic breath practices — such as rapid breathing or extended retention — alter blood oxygen levels and should not be combined with particular medical conditions.

Your own boundaries

You are responsible for monitoring your own well-being. If at any point you experience overwhelming anxiety, emotional distress, dizziness, hyperventilation or physical discomfort, you agree to stop the exercise immediately, return to natural breathing, and open your eyes.

Physical postures are taught in person only

We do not teach physical yoga postures (asan) online. Physical postures require direct, in-person supervision for safe alignment.

3. Health and medical disclaimer; assumption of risk

Our digital yoga videos are provided for educational and entertainment purposes only and do not constitute medical advice. Yoga involves physical movement that carries an inherent risk of injury. By streaming or practising using our videos, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with such physical activity. You agree that you are in an adequate physical condition to participate and have consulted with a physician if necessary. You hereby release and hold harmless ayu yoga from any and all claims of ordinary negligence resulting from your participation in these videos.

This waiver forms part of our Terms of Service, and is governed by the law and the courts named there. The exceptions in those Terms — for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, and anything else that cannot be excluded under applicable law — apply to this waiver too.
